Education
'A Pathway to Empowerment'
Education is empowerment. It is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty and inequality while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and responsible citizenship. Access to quality education is a fundamental right that enables children to realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
A growing body of evidence, including the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) by the esteemed Pratham Education Foundation, highlights the persistent challenges and ongoing neglect in the education sector, particularly in early childhood and primary education. Approximately 8 million children under the age of six live in slums across India, and nearly 23 million children between the ages of 5 and 18 remain out of school. Access to early childhood care, balanced nutrition, education, healthcare services, and recreational opportunities is essential for a child’s healthy and holistic development.
With the vision of creating an inclusive learning environment for children from underserved communities and ensuring they complete their primary and secondary education, Proaction Foundation provides supplementary educational support to children enrolled in its programs at the Thane and Pune centres. The Foundation conducts study and support classes in subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and the local language, Marathi. In addition, financial assistance is provided to help students continue their education without interruption. To ensure holistic development, we also provides essential learning resources, opportunities for play and personal growth, healthcare support, and recreational activities. These initiatives help children benefit from both academic and extracurricular learning experiences.
Qualified teachers guide students with homework, curriculum support, assessments, and difficult subjects, while also identifying children facing learning difficulties in mainstream classrooms. The primary objective is to equip children with essential academic and life skills, build self-confidence, and enable them to compete with their more privileged peers.
Furthermore, regular teacher training sessions are organized to make learning more engaging, interactive, and content-driven. The innovative teaching aids and learning materials developed during these trainings significantly enhance classroom participation and improve learning outcomes.
Through these focused interventions, Proaction Foundation strives to create equal educational opportunities and empower children to build brighter and more secure futures.
