Sunanda Shrimant Shinde, a 42-year-old resident of Janata Vasahat, Pune, transformed her life through the ProAction Foundation’s computer training program. Despite being actively involved in community work, she struggled with digital tasks and depended on others to prepare reports. After attending three months of free computer classes, she learned Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, enabling her to complete her work independently. This not only reduced her expenses but also boosted her confidence. Today, Sunanda feels empowered and aspires to further enhance her digital skills, inspiring other women in her community to become self-reliant and confident.
Since joining ProAction Foundation as a counselor in December 2024, I have worked closely with children and parents across different centers. During regular parent meetings and interactions, it became evident that many parents—especially mothers—struggled with understanding their children’s emotions and managing their parenting responsibilities effectively.
Recognizing this need, a “Smart Parenting” awareness session was organized on 26th February 2026 at both centers. The session, conducted by experts from the MES Personality Development Center, provided valuable guidance on parenting styles, child psychology, and effective communication with children. It also encouraged parents to reflect on their approaches and seek further support when needed.
One inspiring outcome was seen in the case of Roshni Rakesh Pawar and her husband, who, after attending the session, voluntarily approached the center for further counselling. They actively sought guidance to better understand their child’s behavior and improve their parenting approach.
This shift from participation to proactive action highlights the impact of the session. It not only raised awareness but also empowered parents to seek solutions independently. Such initiatives play a crucial role in strengthening families and creating a supportive environment for children’s growth and development.
